Abstract
In any healthcare setting, the cornerstone of clinical practice is asepsis and antisepsis. Now, because of the novel corona virus pandemic, this has become very much relevant. But, this aspect of ophthalmology though very important but less talked about in day to day practices. Lack of knowledge or negligence in infection or standard practices would result in hazardous effects, as sterility are important for successful eye care practice. HAI are minimal in ophthalmic practices because of hospital stay, but, these are epidemiologically more associated with certain patient care procedures e.g.transmission of HIV viruses through tears, entry of the corona virus through the AC duct. So, providing standard and safe surgical procedures emphasizing the modern aseptic techniques and infection control practices pertaining to ophthalmic operation theatre is discussed in this IC,giving emphasis also the hospitals accreditation and the present coronisation.
