Abstract
A 44 year old male patient presented to the cornea services with complaints of pain and decreased vision after having a bee sting injury to his eye. Corneal evaluation revealed the presence of a bee sting embedded in his cornea along with corneal edema. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to remove it externally, the patient was referred to the retina clinic for endoscopy guided removal. A 23 G endoscope (E2 Laser and Endoscopy System (EndoOptiks, Inc., Little Silver, NJ, USA ) was introduced in the anterior chamber and under direct endoscopy assisted visualisation the bee sting was removed and the anterior chamber angle was examined
The be sting which was found to be embedded in the corneal stroma and endothelium was removed
This video demonstrates the utility of endoscopy in visualising and removing intracameral foreign bodies and also its possible use in visualising and removing foreign bodies in the angle of anterior chamber.
