Abstract
Small pupil and Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) has always been a challenge in cataract surgery. The primary factors in managing the cataract in Miotic pupils/IFIS are a combination of surgeon skill, dynamics of the Phacoemulsification machine and the use of Mechanical Pupil dilating devices such as Pupil Expanding rings. Here we discuss how we managed a case of Cataract in Miotic pupils with IFIS with the help of Pupil expanding rings. Pupil expanding rings prevents many complications during surgery in a Miotic pupil like Iris prolapse and poor visibility for all the IntraOperative maneuvers. In our Video we discuss about the usage of three types of pupil expanding rings. This video will be helpful for Postgraduates and all practicing Ophthalmologist on the management of cataract in Miotic pupils and the use of various rings.
