Abstract

Introduction: Cataract is leading cause of blindness in developing countries. If left untreated, it may progress to Hyper Mature Senile Cataract. Complication associated with HMSC include Lens-induced uveitis, phacolytic glaucoma and rarely spontaneous dislocation of nucleus. Reason of this is either patient negligence or non availability of tertiary Eye service

Method: this video intends to demonstrate different presentation associated with hyper mature cataract following case wise management. An attack of of phacholytic and pachomorphic glaucoma can be as a result of neglected cataract.Such presentations are common among pediatric age group.

Conclusion: Early diagnosis and timely surgical intervention are crucial in management of hyper mature cataract. There is a need to increase awareness about sight threatening complications of neglected senile cataract in developing nations.
