Abstract
The surgical management of subluxated mature cataract is one of the challenging situations an anterior segment surgeon may encounter. The present video shows a case of mature cataract with anterior capsular fibrosis with inferior subluxation having a zonular dehiscence of about 6 clock hours. After doing conjunctival peritomy superiorly, scleral incision was given. Sclerocorneal tunnel was made. Side ports were made and anterior chamber was entered and the wound was extended. With the help of irrigating vectis nucleus along with the bag was taken out. Anterior vitrectomy was done. Retro- fixated iris claw lens was given. Wound was sutured and remaining vitreous was cleared from anterior chamber after staining with triamcinolone acetonide and then anterior chamber was formed. This video reviews that cataract extraction along with retro-fixated iris claw IOL is a simple and efficient way of managing subluxated mature cataract with capsular fibrosis.
