Abstract

Limbal dermoids can cause visual and cosmetic concerns. They can lead to stimulus deprivation as well as meridional and anisometropic amblyopia. Various techniques for dermoid excision have been described like Shave excision, Excision with multilayer Amniotic membrane graft, Excision with keratopigmentation, Penetrating keratoplasty and Excision with Anterior lamellar keratoplasty. Anterior lamellar keratoplasty in limbal dermoid though more challenging than simple excision or full thickness keratoplasty gives good cosmetic and functional outcomes.

This video is to present a case of an 8 year old female who presented with limbal dermoid in the inferotemporal quadrant with Best Corrected Visual Acuity(BCVA) of 6/60. It was successfully managed with excision and deep lamellar keratoplasty using a corneoscleral graft. Good cosmetic and visual outcomes were achieved with BCVA of 6/18. Graft clarity and visual acuity was maintained at 1 year follow up with no episodes of graft rejection.
