Abstract
Method and results-This video highlights enhanced technique of strabismus management in 3post scleral buckle patients in a tertiary eye care center in South India. 1patient was managed conservatively with prisms, other 2required surgery. Surgery in these patients requires extensive dissection with use of antimitotic agents owing to extreme adhesions. Hangback and adjustable sutures with conjunctival recession are of additional benefit. Despite these steps, residual strabismus was noted in a patient due to extreme muscle injury caused during buckle implantation. Buckle was removed in 1 patient.
Conclusion-Management of nonresolving post scleral buckle strabismus is a challenge owing to distinct underlying mechanism. Management needs to be individualized and modified by using special aforementioned procedures to achieve successful motor alignment.
