Abstract
Methods: Total of 200 subjects were included in our study. Among them 100 will undergo phacoemulsification by stop & chop technique and 100 will undergo phacoemulsification by divide & conquer technique. Postop CCT, endothelial cell density and absolute phaco time will be evaluated on post-op day 1, 1st week and 6 weeks.
Results:We found that stop & chop surgical technique uses less energy and reduces complications in patients undergoing phacoemulsification also these patients have better visual outcome and lesser postop complications.
Conclusion:stop & chop technique will be easier to learn and better than divide & conquer So we can use this technique on more routine basis.simple yet effective method to reduce postop inflammation & have better visual outcome.
