Abstract
Material: In this prospective, interventional study; 100 patients of uncomplicated cataract in the age group between 45-70 years were recruited.
Results: The % of patients requiring glasses for distance visual tasks in eyes with monofocal IOL was 20% as opposed to 42% in eyes with MIOL. For near work, all the patients with monofocal IOL required glasses and 55% patients with MIOL were free of any near correction (p<0.0001). VF-14 mean score of 57.08 ± 5.2 in eyes with monofocal IOL and 75.44 ± 17.93 in eyes with multifocal IOL without glasses(p<0.0001). Conclusion: Eyes implanted with multifocal IOLs obtained more spectacle independence, better overall vision and less limitation in visual function.[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP1529.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
