Abstract
Most of ophthalmic surgeries are performed in topical or local anesthesia. Patient’s cooperation is of utmost importance for success of surgery apart from surgeon’s skill. Some patients are extremely anxious. Intravenous dexmedetomidine was used in such patients under supervision of anesthetist . Details about how to administer and monitor the medicine and results will be discussed . In all the patients excellent sedation was achieved . Intraoperative intraocular pressure was low in all patients with un eventful successful surgeries
