Abstract
METHOD: An observational cross- sectional study was done,94 MGD cases aged 18-55yrs were undertaken & were diagnosed on the basis of OSDI questionnaire, lid features, meibum quality & expressibility, fluorescein staining .Staging was done as per International workshop on MGD&management,2011& eye with more severity of MGD was included in study. The fasting LDL-C & HDL-C was done for MGD pts & age&sex matched controls without MGD &their LDL-C &HDL-C were compared.
RESULTS:Level of LDL-C was >=130mg/dl was more in the cases as compared to controls &was statistically significant (p=0.018) & level of HDL-C<40mg/dl was comparable in cases &controls &was not statistically significant(p=0.883) CONCLUSION: The ophthalmologists play an important role in diagnosing the lipid levels in MGD patients which is of great help in diagnosing various CVS disease of which raised LDL-C ‘or’ reduced HDL-C is the cause.[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP916.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
