Abstract
Case discussion: Patient complained of DOV RE since 3months associated with mild redness, watering.With a history of lime injury 7months back for which he took treatment for 3months but there was improvement so penetrating keratoplasty was done. The graft remained clear for about 1 month but then started developing haziness again.
On examination: RE had HM vision PR accurate, conjunctiva was mildly congested, cornea was opaque &corneal superficial deep vascularisation &conjunctivalisation was present circumferentially which were S/O graft failure.Posterior segment was normal on Bscan.
LE was within normal limits.
Conclusion: Keratoplasty after chemical injury is a poor prognostic factor for the success of keratoplasty.But failure usually occurs following rejection.
Purpose of case report: To throw light on a rare case of graft failure without rejection as a consequence of chemical injury.
