Abstract
Case-60yr male came with c/o DOV since childhood in LE which was gradual,painless &progressive,associated with photophobia,glare on & off headache with pain on awakening with improvement later in the day since 6 months.
Slit lamp examination:hazy cornea,stromal edema,folds in descemet’s membrane & endothelium with microcystic epithelium and central cornea showed dense edema with opacification.
CCT:Increased corneal thickness with guttae.On specular microscopy polymegathism & pleomorphic cells with low cell count per area.
Medical Management started followed by penetrating keratoplasty.
Conclusion-The advantage of penetrating keratoplasty is that it can restore vision even in the most advanced stages of Fuchs’ dystrophy.
Purpose-To report visual rehabilitation in advanced fuch’s dystrophy with penetrating keratoplasty.
