Abstract
AIM OF STUDY- To compare the successful outcomes of TPK with & without peripheral iridectomy .
MATERIAL& METHODS-It is a prospective comparative observational study conducted august2017 to july 2019in a tertiary care hospital with eye bank.Out of the total 60 cases who underwent TPK ,peripheral iridectomy was done in 36 cases GROUP A ¬ done in 24 cases GROUP B, &the results were compared in subsequent follow up visits.Males 65%& females 35% with more in 40-50 age group.Infections included bacterial fungal & other.Postop VA better75%&54%, graft clarity80%&58% ,shallow AC in30%&58%,secondary glaucoma25%&54%,graft epithelialdefect22%&45%,reinfection of graft 17%&46%,graft failure27% &59%cases was noted respectively in GROUP A &GROUP B CASES .
CONCLUSION- From the above study it is found TPK with peripheral iridectomy gives better visual &anatomical prognosis of grafts of TPK.
