Abstract
MATERIALS AND METHODS- A retrospective and prospective observational study was done on 211 patients who underwent surgical repair of retina and SO injection for various retinal pathologies .Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA),intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements by applanation tonometer and fundus examination was done at all visits. Outcomes were assessed at 1, 3, 6 week, 3 and 6 months. Increased IOP was defined as an IOP of more than or equal to 21 mmHg, in the study
RESULTS-The overall incidence of glaucoma of this study was 45.97 %. Most of the patient with high IOP was managed medically. Patients who did not respond to medical management, IOP was noted to be normal after subsequent SO removal.
CONCLUSION-Secondary glaucoma after VR surgery with SO injection is a common complication with high incidence rate.
