Abstract
A cross-sectional study was done. Patients were given self-customized questionnaires and asked to demonstrate correct drug instillation technique. 30.4% patients were educated about the nature and progression of glaucoma. 22.4% patients were aware of correct method of instillation and 76.2% were aware that timing of instillation of eye drops has a role to play. Punctal occlusion was explained to 13.8% patients and assisted instillation to 11.6%. Family screening and strict control of associated systemic illness was advised in only 23% and 18% patients respectively.
Proper knowledge of disease is essential for compliance. Family screening and control of comorbidities should not be overlooked.
