Abstract
CASE DESCRIPTION- A young, average built, 40 years old female patient presented with sudden onset redness and swelling in left eye, pain of progressive nature and blurry vision. Pain was present in and around the eye and increased with ocular movements. Patient is a known case of hypertension, on treatment since 5 years.
On examination, her best corrected vision was 20/20, with normal colour vision in both eyes, anterior segment was normal with brisk pupils. Fundus revealed established disc edema in left eye, while right eye was absolutely normal. Magnetic resonance imaging suggested IIH with no inflammation of optic nerve.
CONCLUSION- This is an unusual case of unilateral papilledema with documented evidence of IIH.
