Abstract

Neurocysticercosis is a parasitic infection of CNS.Seizures are the most common clinical presentation in 70-90% of cases. A 62yrs old female presented in eye OPD with c/o headache, DOV in RE, drooping of eyelid since 1month.No H/O seizures, vomiting, unconsciousness and trauma.O/E OD VA PL+, Moderate ptosis, Pupil MDNRL, lens NS grade II, eyeball deviated outward and downward. OS VA 6/24 PH 6/18, lens NS grade II rest WNL.Fundus OU WNL.Blood reports WNL. MRI brain-suggested Neurocysticercosis, MRI orbit-WNL.Patient was treated with ICT lowering agents, systemic steroids, antiprotozoal, and supportive t/t.After 4 months of f/u, patient symptomatically improved.OD VA CF 2feet,mild ptosis, pupil sluggishly reacting to light and ocular movements WNL.

CONCLUSION-As we know most common presentation of Neurocysticercosis is seizures but in this case presentation was ocular signs and symptoms. Although it is rare but this case concludes that Neurocysticercosis can present with nerve palsy.
