Abstract

Vogt koyanagi harada syndrome is a rare granulomatous multisystem disease involving eye, integuments, ear & meninges.22year female patient presented to our hospital with sudden painless loss of vision in left eyesassociated with headache since 3 day.There was no history of trauma or systemic complaints in past.No significant family/systemic history.BCVA was CFCF+ PR accurate & 6/6respectively. Fundoscopy RE was normal ad LE showed mild disc hyperemia and extensive multiple serous retinal detachments. OCT revealed exudative retinal detachment.A diagnosis of VKH disease suspected to be in prodromal stage was established.Patient was treated with Oral steroids 1mg/kg for 1week tapered slowly.She showed recovery to 6/12 & reduced areas of SRD on 1week followup.

VKH may be misdiagnosed in prodromal stage as other signs appear later in disease course.Thus,VKH should be considered as a differential diagnosis in cases presenting with sudden loss of vision and extensive exudative detachments.
