Abstract
Purpose:To provide real-world data on world-wide-web for patient and doctor awareness.Method:From Dec’17 to June’20,patients with choroidal melanoma(CM),iridociliary melanoma(ICM) and ocular surface squamous carcinoma(OSSC) had specific outcomes recorded at each visit. Results were anonymized, entered in online portal & sent to software program developed to create real-world-data for our eye cancer center. Results:A confidential,internet-based software program was developed & linked to a public access webpage to collect & analyze near-real-time data pertaining to treatment, vision & follow-up time of eye cancer patients.Tumor control for CM was 99.7%, ICM 99.1% & OSSC 100%.Conclusion:Monitoring one’s own waiting room results offers transparency & opportunity to improve clinical practice,by giving each center a near-real-time evaluation of the effectiveness of their care, helping both the patient and the physician by improving the health care standards of each doctor’s clinical practice.
