Abstract
Aim- to study effect of increase screen time during the lockdown of covid pandemic 2020.
Method- visual acuity, auto refraction and trial of glasses were done in 189 patients who presented with complaints of defective vision, decreased vision with the current glasses using, asthenopia headache and lacrimation.
Results- age group was 12-35years
57% Male, 43% female, previous myopic were 23.8%
Average increase in screen time was 3.16+/-1.44hours
76.2% patients who were previously emmetropic showed myopia of -0.25 to -1.00D whereas 23.8% patients who were previously myopic showed increase in myopia by -0.25 to -0.75D.
Conclusion- though in many studies the relation between screen time and myopia was found to be inconclusive but in this study we found a positive correlation between increase in screen time and myopia.
