Abstract
Objective: To present a case series of 7 patients with orbitopalpebral neurofibromatosis which are rare but important group of conditions seen by ophthalmologists but inadequately addressed.
Methods :All 7 patients were managed with planned surgical approach, with full thickness, transverse or transverse oblique resection of upperlid neurofibroma along with canthopexies and ptosis correction.
Results: Presenting signs & symptoms included eyelid swelling, ptosis, canthal dystopia & decreased visual acuity. These patients were treated with tailored surgical approach which gives acceptable results in these challenging cases.
Conclusion:A tailored radical palpebral resection can provide both functional & aesthetic benefit even in challenging plexiform neurofibromatosis which henceforth improved patient’s social interaction & confidence.
