Abstract
Traumatic cataracts present with unusual presentations.The surgical management of these cases are challenging.This course will deal with the presurgical considerations,meticulous examination and surgical approach to ensure the best possible outcome.It will highlight the difficulties in preoperative assessment of the cases and biometric challenges and methods to overcome them.The course will also deal with innovative surgical techniques to manage traumatic iridodialysis to provide an excellent functional and cosmetic result.The decision to approach a case of traumatic subluxated cataract through pars plana and the role of toric IOLs to deal with post traumatic astigmatism are some of the salient features of this course that will help surgeons to embrace technology and improve surgical skill to give the best surgical results.
