Abstract

The number of ophthalmologists taking to social media has increased exponentially. During the COVID national lock-down phase, many also discovered the wide range of media available and like a child let loose in an ice cream shop, went a little berserk with their new discovery. A barrage of webinars, irresponsible posts on What’s App , Twitter and face book followed causing much embarrassment to all concerned.

This IC will have responsible users of various media talking about the power of the medium, its effective use and prevention of abuse. There will be separate talks on webinars, face book, twitter, WA and Linked in. How to get the best out of each medium will be highlighted. Importance of self depreciation and humour will be taught.

Since many of the audience will be first time users, plenty of time will be kept for audience interaction and panel discussion.
