Abstract
This IC is a step by step guide for setting up a successful cornea practice .We will discuss threadbare the basic infrastructure needed in a cornea practice. Attendee will learn how to market surgical skills and clinical acumen when infrastructure is being upgraded at lightning speed and learn pearls to increase patient satisfaction and referrals back to practice. Is ASOCT needed? How to take good slit lamp photos at low cost? Is tomographer mandatory or a topographer? Basic equipment for corneal scraping, tie ups with micro lab would be covered. Pros and cons of equipment for a Dry Eye Clinic and Ectasia screening clinic would be covered. Which CXL machine is the best? Is a stem cell lab needed ? How to set up an eye bank?. Pearls on training Eye bank technicians for precutting corneal tissues for lamellar surgeries will be given. Is it possible to do active corneal basic science research in private practice, tips on organising the grant, equipment and manpower will be covered.
