Abstract
Background: COVID-19 has affected over 215 countries across the globe. With time, lockdowns have been relaxed and gradually numbers of patients are increasing in hospital. It is crucial to modify our ophthalmology practice in such a way that it doesn’t increase the contamination and keeping the doctors and the patient safe.
Methods & Results: Technology medications include a face shield, mask, slit lam shield, indirect ophthalmoscope cover, 90 D cover, UV sterilization of mask and shields & basic history over phone, WhatsApp or other social mediums. System modifications include layout modifications, hand sanitization & thermal screening, triage and modification during the examination of the patient.
Conclusion: Modification in our day to day ophthalmology practice is the need of the hour to prevent the spread of COVI-19 virus. These modifications in our system and technology could be helpful in running our clinical practice keeping doctors, hospital staff and patients safe.
