Abstract
Setting:- Tertiary eye care hospital, West Bengal
Methods:- Retrospective review of consecutive 50 surgeries done by a fellow of cataract surgery areas where the surgeon faced difficulties were explained and how had he conquered the difficulties were also been discussed.
Result:- Retrospective analysis of consecutive 50 surgeries done by a trainee cataract surgeon to show the difficulties like head position of patients, hand position of surgeon with surgeon’s comfort, trenching, chopping difficulties & also complication during phaco surgery. With this the solutions of each problems were also been discussed.
Conclusion:- Learning curve of trainee phaco surgeon was not very steep provided he was continuously monitored by his Mentor. So retrospective review and analysis of consecutive 50 surgeries during learning phase are mandatory to become accomplished.
