Abstract

Every trauma case is a new learning experience in itself and has to be dealt with an innovative approach. The purpose of this video is to simplify dealing with paediatric traumatic cataracts with few personal tips. Videos of 54 cases performed by single surgeon (author) at a rural tertiary care ophthalmic centre from January 2018 to December 2019 were collected, out of which, few videos were selected and scanned for different surgical steps. Explanatory animations and audio narration were added wherever needed. A compiled video of analysis of the different surgical steps like anterior capsular management, lens aspiration, posterior chamber IOL implantation, posterior capsular rhexis and vitrectomy was made. Additionally, clips of special situations like capsular bag formation and secondary IOL implantation were added. It is a one of its kind video of surgical tips on paediatric traumatic cataracts which would help in non-traumatic handling and better visual outcomes.
