Abstract
A 25 year old, 34 week pregnant women with a history of bilateral 350-mm Baerveldt glaucoma drainage implant (GDI) 7 years ago for secondary glaucoma due to chronic uveitis presented with sudden worsening of vision, with IOP of 36 mm of Hg. On examination, a vitreous wick was noted to have drawn into and occluding the tube tip. This video demonstrates the technique of dislodging the vitreous wick from tube making sure that it is not drawn into the valve and confirming the patency of the tube.
Post operatively the patient vision recovered to 6/6 from 6/18 with an intraocular pressure of 10 mm of hg without any medication.
