Abstract
A 60 year old male presented with a lesion in left eye sine 6 months. no history of pain,redeness,sudden increase in size. on examination an irregular mass at nasal limbus, 4*4 mm between 8°-9° clock position,extending 2 mm onto the cornea with feeder vessel was noted in left eye.surgical excision biopsy following ‘‘SHIELD’S NO TOUCH TECHNIQUE’’ was done
surgical steps
1.4mm surgical margin around clinically determined tumour is marked using dye,bipolar cautery
2.Marked area of the conjunctiva including the tumour is excised without touching tumour
3.Absolute alcohol epitheliectomy done for the corneal component.superficial limbectomy done and the tumour is completely excised.specimen was sent for histopathological evaluation
4.Double freeze thaw cryotherapy is done to the resected inner margins of conjunctiva
5.ocular surface reconstruction is done using amniotic membrane graft
Histopathology report showed sheets of dysplastic epithelial cells with tumour free margins
