Abstract
Methods: Case report and review of literature. Visual acuity, refraction, ultrasound pachymetry,
anterior segment optical coherence tomography, corneal topography,
and corneal tomography are presented.
Results: A 55-year old woman with bilateral Keratoglobus presented with hypermature intumescent cataract.
Clinical examination and corneal topography confirmed generalized corneal bulging and global corneal thinning. Pentacam demonstrated bilateral diffuse corneal thinning (368 m in the right eye and 371 m in the left eye). Phacoemulsification was performed in the right eye after thorough work up and modification of the surgical technique.
Conclusions: This video helps in better understanding of challenges of cataract surgery in a keratoglobus patients and stresses on the need of thorough preoperative planning and need of intraoperative surgical modifications.
