Abstract
port, either a chopper or a spatula to support the nucleus and aid in removal of the nucleus safely.
The second instrument is supposed to aid in stabilizing the globe during incisions, capsulorrhexis,
injection of various surgery aiding solutions & instruments, to complete phacoemulsification, to stabilize the globe during IOL implantation and finally to form the chamber at the end of the surgery.
However, using the new innovative techniques of “PHACO SOMERSAULT”, “NINZA CHOP”, & other manoeuvres all the steps mentioned above of phacoemulsification can be accomplished safely and successfully with SINGLE HAND. This opens up a whole new scope for surgeons, innovators and equipment companies trying to invent a surgical technique or a procedure in ophthalmic surgery or an instrument; but could not do so because they
do not have a FREE HAND DURING PHACOEMULSIFICATION.
