Abstract
A total of 69 patients presented with traumatic cataract during the study period.
B-scan was done in case of no fundus view to assess the posterior segment
10 patients were advised conservative management.
Patients having involvement of posterior segment had lower visual outcomes.
Patients undergoing primary surgical repair involving cornea, lens and retina and undergoing secondary IOL implantation had better visual outcome.Few patients have been lost on followup.
A multi-disciplinary approach involving both anterior and posterior segment surgeons and timely intervention gives good outcome
in most of the traumatic cataracts
