A 28 year male came to OPD with complaints of some insect going inside his OS 3 days back.UCVA was 6/6 OD and 6/36OS.Slit lamp examination OS showed few caterpillar hairs in upper tarsal conjunctiva, several hairs in anterior, mid and posterior stromal corneal layers and 2 entering anterior chamber and conjunctival congestion.Dilated fundus examination was normal OS.Patient was explained about need for urgent removal of hairs and possible multiple interventions.Hairs from upper tarsal conjunctiva were removed.Hairs were removed in OR from corneal layers with 30G needle, 26G needle,15No.blade.2 hairs seen on anterior lens capsule were removed with retinal microforceps and OVD with sideport entry in OR.Topical steroids, antibiotics and lubricants were prescribed.10 days POD UCVA was 6/6 OS with normal IOP.Dilated fundus exam was normal.Patient was seen again after 3 weeks and 3 months.He was doing fine with quiet eye.
