Abstract
Methods: Three cases were referred to tertiary eye hospital for progressive DV. Case 1.32-years-old male with C/O of DV for 3 months & H/O use of Contact lenses for 2 years. Case 2. 31-years-old female, C/O DV for 5 years & Case 3.46-years-old male with C/O DV for 10 years with H/O spectacle use in both. All cases were analyzed with slit lamp, refraction, keratometry & subsequent corneal tomography for suspected corneal ectasia.
Result: Inferior corneal thinning with steepening, against the rule astigmatism & tomographic astigmatic pattern were suggestive of PMD. Patients were advised regular follow up for future management approach.
Conclusion: PMD is rare corneal ectatic condition. High suspicion should be kept in mind in cases presenting with progressive DV & irregular astigmatism for differential diagnosis & appropriate management options for corneal ectasia.
