Abstract
This translates into a huge burden of Glaucoma in India and these patients are being treated by all ophthalmologists and not just glaucoma specialists alone. Therein, lies the importance of the concept of setting an ideal target intraocular pressure. Currently, the intraocular pressure is the only known modifiable risk factor and decreasing it is the sole method by which the progression of this disease can be delayed.
Setting a target intraocular pressure should be individualized keeping in mind various systemic factors, individual factors and stage of the disease.
