Abstract

POAG is a chronic, progressive optic neuropathy. Low bp relative to IOP can lead to a low OPP, consequently, decreasing the perfusion of the optic nerve and leading to a glaucomatous damage.

Observational Cross sectional Study was done at Dept of Ophthalmology, DDU Hospital, N.Delhi.42 Patients each of POAG and NTG and 42 healthy controls were included in study.

RESULT

In our Study the mean values of MOPP among POAG and NTG groups are significantly lower compared to CONTROL group.The mean values of DOPP among POAG (57.95 ± 4.91 mmHg) and NTG (58.31 ± 4.36 mmHg) groups are significantly lower compared to CONTROL (70.1 ± 4.33) group and the mean values of PSV & EDV(Ophthalmic Artery) among POAG and NTG groups were significantly lower compared to CONTROL group .

CONCLUSION

All the parameters are significantly lower in Glaucoma groups (POAG & NTG) as compared to healthy population suggesting that vascular insufficiency or dysregulation may account for pathogenesis of Glaucoma.
