Abstract
METHODS: A 39-year-old lady with apparently no systemic illnesses presented with visual disturbance in the left eye following which she underwent routine clinical examination, multimodal imaging and visual field testing .
RESULTS: At her first visit, visual acuity was 6/12 in the left eye, with fundus showing disc edema with superior retinal whitening over the macula. In view of this unusual presentation in a young patient she was advised and underwent an inflammatory, hematological and cardiology workup. She was found to have presence of an atrial septal aneurysm for which she was started on Ecosprin tablets and Clexane injections. On follow up after a month her visual acuity improved to 6/9 and there was resolution of the disc edema
CONCLUSION: We report a unique case of NAION with CLARO presenting as an initial symptom of an atrial septal aneurysm.
