Abstract
Methods and material : a prospective interventional case study including 32 eyes of 27 children with CNLDO,aged more than 2 years .diagnosis of CNLDO made upon history of watering since birth discharge an regurgitation test. Children with previous probing were excluded. All children underwent probing of Nasolacrimal duct .success of probing defined as complete resolution of symptoms .repeat probing done after 6 to 8 weeks if needed.
Results: total 27 children (32 eyes) aged between 2 to 4 yrs, with history of watering since birth were included in study. Overall success rate was 81%. 5 (18.51%) children needed second procedure.persistence of watering was seen in 3 children.
Conclusion: probing is still viable surgical option in children older than 2 yrs. Trial of Primary probing should be given before going for complex procedures.
