Abstract
An 18 year old patient presented 1 hour following hammer & chisel injury with corneal tear & defective projection of rays with a visible large foreign body in anterior chamber suspected to be impacted in angle & possible partial thickness scleral coat. X ray revealed the foreign body but couldn’t depict its extent. A CT scan was requested that again revealed its presence only in anterior chamber. In OT ,corneal tear was repaired . Foreign body was found to be relatively immobile due to entangled fibrin . It was freed , taken out(~4*2 mm ) & sent for culture.Post operative b scan revealed some exudation in posterior segment. Intravitreal antibiotics were given for same. Exudation decreased over time & then the patient was managed conservatively along with serial b scans.
