FP2132 : A CASE OF IDIOPATHIC BILATERAL MULTIFOCAL CHOROIDITIS

Abstract
Background – Multifocal choroiditis is usually bilateral but asymmetrical, chronic/recurrent disease that typically affects young and middle aged females. Case Details- A 50yr old female presented with complaint of D.O.V. since 2 months. Her B.C.V.A. in B/E was 2/60. H/O diabetes since 20yrs. Past h/o adequate treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis 2 yrs back. Investigations revealed no definite cause for choriditis. Fundus examination: Multiple yellowish ovoid patches of variable size in periphery. Perimetry: Arcuate scotoma (OU). Treatment I.V. Methylprednisolone 1gm in 100ml saline over 4 hrs for 3 consecutive days. Results- After 3 days B.C.V.A. improved to 6/36(OD) 6/24(OS) . Fundus;Fluffy yellow patches became well defined suggestive of healing. Perimetry – No changes.Conclusion- Timely diagnosis & intervention with I.V. steroids helps in reversal of symptoms & prevents the severe complications.
