Abstract
Purpose- To study the diagnostic yield of fatigability test, ice pack test and repetitive nerve stimulation test (RNS) in clinically diagnosed myasthenia patients. Method: In a 3 year prospective study, 68 patients underwent above tests for confirmation of myasthenia. Results: Mean age of patients was 48 years, male: female ratio was 56:44. Sensitivity of fatigability test was 62%, ice pack test was 78% and combined ice pack + fatigability test was 92% . Sensitivity of RNS was 90%. Conclusion: Though RNS is considered confirmatory, bed side tests ( combined ice pack test + fatigability test) are equally sensitive to RNS for ocular myasthenia
