Abstract
Ophthalmologists are aware about clinical aspects in ROP, its association with CVI and its relationship to special children,which includes cerebral palsy,autism,learning disorders,ADHD and ADD are new entities which needs to be tackled as the Ophthalmologists play a key pivotal role in improving their quality of life. Careful examination,assessment and application of targeted rehabilitative measures are required towards improved global development.The knowledge of association of maternal infections , hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy ,complicated pregnancies leading to co-morbidities which affect vision,cognition,behavior and seizures. A brief look into efficacy of stem cells in this condition will also be discussed with examples.
Our IC aims to discuss precisely about methods employed for visual rehabilitation in overall better development of these children.
