Abstract

In almost all the medical colleges, very little is taught to us about the Medico-Legal aspects. Whatever little medical jurisprudence that is taught is barely useful only for a few of doctors working in govt services dealing miscellaneous Medico legal cases.

Now-a-days high consumer awareness and low threshold for tolerance, has lead to increasing number of law suits against doctors.The need of the hour, is good knowledge about legal aspects that one may have to deal with.

An ophthalmologist is hardly aware of legal aspects of ophthalmic practice or the concerned laws which are relevant for practice. So whenever they comes across any Medico legal situation they get baffled.

Particularly in CPA cases, they tend to lose their peace of mind which affects their skill and practice.

In this IC, the statutory rules that are concerned with ophthalmic practice, CPA, Procedures in the Court, Professional Indemnity, Study of relevant law cases and the concerned Legal matter are included.
