Abstract

This instruction course helps orient the audience towards the various anterior segment scans i.e. Pentacam, ASOCT, Orbscan and Specular Microscopy.We will discuss the accurate approach of interpreting a normal scan and differentiating it from a pathology . Delegates will be taken through a series of more than 80 scans typical of certain diseases in cornea . 1) The Orbscan and 2) Pentacam scans encompass : • Abnormal Topography • Keratoconus,PMD • Decision making in refractive surgery • Post Lasik • Post Keratoplasty Astigmatism and many more. 3) ASOCT Spotters include • Corneal scars • Foreign body • DMD • Graft Adhesion and many more. 4)Specular Scans include assessment of • Quantity (Cell Count) • Quality (Pleomorphism/ Polymegathism) • Dystrophies Therefore to conclude, this course will be of immense help to post graduate students AND practicing ophthalmologist to address the lacunae in accurately diagnosing and managing common corneal conditions encountered in day to day practice.
