Abstract

Multicolour Imaging (MCI) is a new non-invasive retinal imaging modality available in Spectralis SDOCT platform which simultaneously acquires three reflectance images of the retina using three individual lasers producing a composite image thereby allowing analysis of changes at various levels within the retina. MCI provides sharper image, enables imaging through small pupil and hazy media.

MCI technology has been used to image superficial features such as epiretinal membrane to deeper lesions such as retinal pigment epithelitis, optic disc pit, and optic disc swelling. MCI technology has also seen to of better yield in case of disc evaluation than the colour fundus photography.

They have been seen to be more productive in case of myopic glaucomatous disc where conventional disc photography and other investigations (ie HVF and OCT) seems to fall short.

In this IC we are trying to highlight the utility of multicolour imaging in different nuances of ophthalmology.
