Abstract
Aim:To find out the relationship between neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte ratio(PLR) in patients with primary open angle glaucoma(POAG).
Methods:It was a cross sectional study where total of 150 patients were screened during the period of20 month from Nov 2017 to June 2019 at tertiary care centre after obtaining ethical clearance. All patients underwent detailed ocular examination including vision, slit lamp, fundus,Central Corneal Thickness, tonometry,Perimetry and detailed blood investigations.Data was analysed using SPSS16.
Results:The mean age was 49±10 years and there were 55.3% men and rest women.Mean IOP was 24±3mm Hg.Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and platelet to lymphocyte ratio were178±0.24 and133.9±3.9, when compared with normal reference value which is 1.65 and 132.4 respectively. Study was found to be statistically significant.
Conclusion:Our study found that NLR and PLR help in predicting prognosis of POAG patients.
