Idiopathic Orbital Inflammatory Syndrome (IOIS) is a benign non infective inflammatory condition of the orbit without identifiable local or systemic causes most commonly affecting the extraocular muscles. The clinical diagnosis is one of exclusion with evaluation directed to exclude neoplasms, infections & systemic disorders. These are pathologic entities that often challenge Ophthalmologists and Radiologists. IOIS is the third most common orbital disease following Graves Ophthalmopathy and lymphoproliferative disease. We report these cases which help in understanding the clinical features of the patients with IOIS, differentiating it from other orbital processes by use of imaging techniques and timely implementation of available treatment strategies to prevent visual loss and associated morbidity from this condition.
