Abstract
Purpose: To discuss a unique case of Medulloepithelioma
Material and methods: A 28 year old pregnant female presented with pain, redness and protrusion of Right eye since 10 days with no perception of light. RE showed axial proptosis (10 mm), painful and restricted ocular movements and conjunctival chemosis showing dilated tortuous episcleral vessels, leucomatous corneal opacity (6 × 5mm) with adherent leucoma with no posterior segment view. Left eye examination was unremarkable. On B-Scan, vitreous cavity was filled with exudates. CE-MRI showed mass filling the right globe with extension into pre-septal space with loss of globe architecture. Patient had no improvement. Later, incisional biopsy done, which revealed malignant small round cell tumor.Results: Right eye Orbital exenteration was done, which on histopathology revealed as Malignant medulloepithelioma (teratoid type). Discussion: Here, we would like to discuss the difficulty faced in diagnosing and managing these tumors.
