Abstract
Multiple myeloma , solitary plasmacytoma and solitary myeloma of bone are the spectrum of same disease.This poster describes three cases which have different presentation and varying prognosis.64 yr old presented with superotemporal mass and proptosis. Biopsy reported plasmacytoma and serum electrophoresis had no M band.She recovered and is free of recurrent disease for 24 months period.Another case of an elderly lady with remission of multiple myeloma on chemotherapy presented with mass near medial canthus with positive M band in serum electrophoeresis. Aggressive chemotherapy was initiated, however patient succumbed 2 months after diagnosis. Third case presented with chronic watering and mass over the lacrimal sac region. Surgery under frozen section showed plasmacytoma. Serum electrophoresis had no M band. He recovered and was free of recurrent disease for 18 months.This is the first case of plasmacytoma of nasolacrimal duct reported. Serum biomarkers showed prognostic significance.
